We do not provide motorcycles, but we do make it easy to rent one. Motorcycle rental prices are not included in our tour prices, however, we will be more than happy to assist you with renting a motorcycle from our local dealer. Please contact us for more information. Tours starting from Spokane, Washington are Harley Davidsons only. You will need a driver’s license with a motorcycle endorsement.
Can I bring my own motorcycle?
Motorcycle Tours Northwest welcomes all makes of motorcycles and all walks of life! Because safety is a number one concern, we do ask that if you are using your own motorcycle, have it serviced, ready and in excellent operating condition, this includes tires.
Do I need insurance?
Yes! If you are riding your own bike you must have liability insurance. If you are renting a bike, you must purchase insurance from the dealer.
We live outside the United States. Can you help us with currency and other difficulties we may encounter?
Absolutely! We will do all we can to make your transition a smooth one. We welcome international riders, and our experience has been, that the more diversified, the more fun the tours become. We suggest that you use a major credit card that can make the conversion of currency for you in real time.
How many people on a tour?
We prefer to ride with 8-10 bikes, keeping our tours small and intimate. You’ll get to know each other as our time together progresses and you’ll enjoy the camaraderie of motorcyclists who share the same passion for riding as you do
What if I am coming alone?
Awesome! Definitely not a problem! Rates for a single rider are listed for each tour. If you don’t mind sharing a room with another solo rider we will try to find you a roommate. If you would like a private room, the cost is also listed. There’s almost always one or more single riders on our tours.
What will the weather be like?
Motorcycle Tours Northwest tours are designed for the ideal weather for that particular region, however we never know what mother nature will throw at us. For your comfort, dress in layers. Mountain passes will be cool and valley floors will be warm.
How far do we ride each day?
Our tours daily average is around 250 miles. Because our tours are mostly in National Parks we might not rack up a lot of miles, but we’ll have full days in the saddle! Each day presents many photo opportunities and we will stop at your leisure for each one! If you are a high mileage seeker and would like to venture forward and see as much as you can, our guides are prepared with maps for your scenic riding experience!
What should I bring?
If you are renting a bike, helmets and rain gear are included. If you are riding your own bike, you’ll need your helmet and rain gear. Summer and winter gloves, eye protection, sun block, chap stick, jackets, boots, leathers, and leisure wear are recommended. And don’t forget your camera. Comfort is the key to enjoying any ride! We suggest dressing in layers depending on the season and the location of your tour. Temperatures can vary greatly due to the wide range of climates you’ll experience in the northwest each day! You’ll be riding through sunny, green valleys filled with herds of elk, and in the next half hour, climb to the peak of a mountain pass at 9,000 feet elevation with Big Horn sheep or a grizzly bear at the side of a frozen alpine lake! Its best to be prepared!
